Cheers, Leanna here!
I’m Leanna, a content marketing writer, strategist and podcast host. I’ve been a freelancer since 2013, a mental health advocate since 2016, and a digital nomad since 2021.
I specialize in future of work and disability content for tech, SaaS, finance, insurance, and healthcare brands.
I create thought leadership, editorial content, ghostwritten content, and content marketing assets on:
- Mental health
- Chronic illness and disability
- DEI and accessibility
- Remote work and digital nomads
- Productivity and small business tools
- Small business development and finance
A lot of my work is based on lived experience.
I'm a chronically ill/disabled self-employed business owner who's also a digital nomad. These experiences give me unique insights that I often leverage for my work.
I’m also the co-host of Bettermental, a wellness podcast for business owners with corporate wellness specialist, Mike Veny, where we discuss mental health management and building healthy business systems.
Want to learn more about me and how I work?
I’ve created a Manual of Me courtesy of Leapers, a mental health resource for freelancers and self-employed workers.
Here's how we can work together

Who I work with
Are you my ideal client?
My clients are software-as-a-service (SaaS) and finance brands that support small businesses and the creator economy.
Many of my clients are:
- Business service and tech providers
- Banks, financial advisors, and lending platforms
- Health and mental health tech brands
- Health, life, and business insurance companies
- Content marketing agencies
I'm especially excited by remote-first companies that support small businesses, invest in workers, prioritize personal freedoms and mental health in the workplace, and create humanitarian tech with worldwide impact.
I love working with editors, executives, content managers, and marketing professionals who share my values: Independence, Integrity, Imagination, and Balance.
What does Independence mean to me?
Being a free-thinking leader in the industry outside of company work. Refusing to compromise when it comes to personal freedoms and protecting the rights and needs of your team, staff and independent contractors alike.
What does Integrity mean to me?
High project standards and the willingness to build healthy working relationships with honest and open communication, dedicated commitment, and constant improvement.
What does Imagination mean to me?
Thinking big, beyond the immediate mental scope of the project to its implications, weight, and impact. Also, learning more together and having fun with it!
What does Balance mean to me?
Respecting multiple perspectives and taking them on board. Striving to prioritize mental health in and outside of work and honor others’ time and boundaries while upholding your own.
